They either have made the wrong job or career choice due to the pressures of life, which they now regret, or have been “pushed” into a job or career by peers or even parents, who expected it of them.

Is there a way?
During my coaching, I find disturbing just the sheer percentage of people in the workforce who do not know what they want to be, either. They are so busy being unhappy with the job/career they hate, that they have not taken the time and not made the effort to really get outta there! I have found that the majority of self help books, programs and gurus will tell you what to do, but almost never how to do it. Now, believe me, there is not “one size fits all” help for people to get out of the job/career they hate, therefore it is so important that people find someone who can take them by the hand, have some clarity of distance and can challenge them throughout the journey.

Where to start
Most of us may not have the time, or the money to invest in a coach to help us from the start, so I have compiled this blog for those, to start somewhere. This is the same process I use with my coaching clients, with great success. I must warn you: This is not for the faint hearted, it is going to take all your wits, your guts, your strength, but it is worth it!
The road to a wonderful destination starts with a single step, so start with this, what do you have to lose? Now, this process will take you anything from several days or several weeks, but that is okay – just keep going.

Follow these steps to get out of a job/career you hate
1. Self Analysis - Find out who YOU really, really, really are - Extremelty important!

If you do not know who you are, how are you going to know what your interests and real skills are? You would be surprised at the skewed views people have of themselves, but there are so many easy ways to find yourself.

Take a week, a few days, or however long you want, visit some websites which offer free Self Analysis Programs and have some objective analysis done. Find your Personality Type, your Best Skills and your Main Interests – these 3 are the most important.

Print the result in big, fat, red letters and put in on your wall or somewhere where you can see it every day.

This is YOU, do not forget it and do not let anyone tell you anything else. Even if you are doing another, totally different job, do not ever forget who you really, really, really are.

2. Align who you are with your passion:

Although this is really easy most people find it a confusing, difficult step and this is where most people get confused, lose their way and give up. All you have to do is take a piece of paper, put a line through the middle.
Write your skills, interests and 3 main points of your now known personality type in the left column from your Self Analysis.

Now write in the right hand column things you would just love to do. (not just like – love = your passion)
This is the thing that you would do for free...
This is the thing that makes time goes by so fast when you are doing it...
This is the thing that you cannot stop thinking of talking about when your friends bring it up...
This is the thing that you unconsciously have come to know a lot about, because you are so interested in it that you spend most of your free time, doing it or reading about it...
This is the thing that gives you a warm feeling in your gut and you just know that it is right...
If you cannot find it by yourself, or have a bit of trouble, ask some friends what they think – you would be surprised!
Choose the 1-3 things that suit you best and are aligned with your Self Analysis, Skills and Interests.

Paste it to your wall!

3. Stay Motivated!

Believe me – you are not going to make a success out of this without staying motivated! this is absolutely crucial.

Download some motivational audios, e-books, programmes, etc from here, listen, and read every minute that you can – when driving, when exercising, when relaxing. This is your invisible coach, always there, always motivating, working on your subconsious. This way you are pumping your subconscious mind full of “success” already and let it do the work for you!

Exercise your mind and exercise your body – you will soon see the transformation.

4. Become resourceful

Of course there will be obstacles – this is a challenge, it is not your Sunday drive to the park.

Find your way over it, under it, around it, through it, if you don’t know the answer – ask, search, create it. There are some ways to kickstart your brain to find creative answers...

Use the people you love, use resources like the web to your advantage, and if you can, get a mentor, someone already doing it. You would be surprised at how many people will mentor you for free!

Keep going

5. Become an expert in the job/career you want by :

Create your perfect day – VERY IMPORTANT
You can take one day off work right? Take it and live your perfect day, do the things you would do when you are what you want to be, the whole day. Make it real, and if you can, do this again and again, as many times as you can.
Write down how it felt, what you did.
Paste it to the wall!

Practising, getting the skills / experience / qualifications you still lack to do your dream job/career
Your “perfect days” will give you the opportunity to study, learn, get experience in your dream job/career, and doing it will make you want to do it even more.

6. When you have made it to this point – you have already made it real. You are already doing your dream job/career at least part time and you will start to recognise and learn ways to monetise it, and what you should be doing to do it full time.

You made it!
This is it, you made it. Can you see that through this whole process, which is actually just a natural system, I never talked about brainstorming ways to monetise it, how to earn money with (whatever you want to do), just leaving your job or any other “believe and you will make it” gobble de gook. I only gave you a real, natural system to help you.
Whether you use it, is up to you.
And this is HOW you do it.

Share it
If you at any time need help with your process, comment on this blog, or email me for free email based coaching – yes it is FREE - this is my passion.

Written by
Zarelsie Van der Merwe (B.Admin Indus Psych, Cert Com Pr)
Personal Change & Development Consultant

Zarelsiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08312523071776062123liveiiexcel@gmail.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4139164964723252194.post-84476541406258778162010-11-24T22:54:00.000-08:002010-11-24T22:54:28.877-08:00How to use your subconscious mind to change your lifeObservers and scholars throughout history have argued the immense effect the subconscious mind has on our lives, but few humans actually reach the level of being able to use and tap the power of their subconscious mind to benefit their lives and wellbeing directly.

What is the Subconscious Mind - does it actually exist?

The word "subconscious" is an anglicized version of the French subconscient as coined by the psychologist Pierre Janet. (Source : Wikipedia.org).
The psychological term is actually "unconcious mind" and refers to the part of a person's mind in which mental occurances appear of which the person is not always aware of, for instance automatic skills such as breathing or blinking, and also, among other things, unconcious feelings, thoughts and habits.
Neuroscience supports the proposition of the unconscious mind and to demonstrate the existence and power of the subconsious mind, many neuroscientists have experimented in different ways, e.g. researchers at Columbia University Medical Center have found that fleeting images of fearful faces—images that appear and disappear so quickly that they escape conscious awareness—produce unconscious anxiety that can be detected in the brain with the latest neuroimaging machines. The conscious mind is hundreds of milliseconds behind the unconscious processes. (Source : Wiki.org).

The use of the Subconsious Mind in Self Development & Motivation

The simple existence of unconcious feelings, thoughts and habits is of interest in the field of Self Development and Self Improvement programs and techniques. Self Development coaches and consultants use different techniques to harness the power of these unconsious feelings, thoughts and habits to enhance the power that the subconscious mind have over the conscious mind.

The ultimate result

Thoughts - leads to Feelings - leads to Actions - leads to Results

For example, similar to the example of the fearful faces in the paragraphs above, Self Development Coaches might inspire their clients and students to constantly bombard their minds with "the good seed" - reading and listening to texts, programs and audios which puts positive, inspirational and motivational messages into the subconsious, to ultimately influence the consious mind.

Your challenge to change your life - Do It Now

To demonstrate the power of this penomena on your own life, I would like to put down a challenge:
1. Record your level of motivation or inspiration about a subject, goal or project you are facing in a notebook.
2. Choose an audio from the range of free audios from world leaders in Self Development and Self Improvement from my website,
3. Download it to your MP3, IPod of other audio device, and listen to it for no shorter than 10 days in a row, while driving to work, while working out, while relaxing.
4. For every day of those 10 days, record your feelings in a paragraph of 100 words or less and rate how motivated you feel out of a score of 10!
Watch the work of your subconscious mind in action!
So if you are finding it hard to stay motivated and inspired to reach your goals under the constant pressure of the demands of life, why not put your subconscious mind’s power at work for you?

Zarelsiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08312523071776062123liveiiexcel@gmail.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4139164964723252194.post-38519123920969739002010-11-02T23:59:00.000-07:002010-11-02T23:59:56.271-07:00Fertile Soil - How to Develop Your MindWelcome to my Blog.
I have created this website - http://www.live2excel.yolasite.com/ - to help humanity THINK AGAIN.
"Men simply don't think!" ...In the words of Nobel prize-winning Dr. Albert Schweitzer when he was asked what is wrong with men today.
By "men" I do not mean the male of our species, but simply humanity in general.
Everything is automated, everything is easy, it is done for us, the answers are given without us even having to use our most precious asset:

Our Minds.

I was born and raised on a farm in rural Africa where my family produced their living from the soil. I then later went to study Industrial Psychology. I found some common truths in both Farming and Psychology:-

Something I learned from an early age on the farm was that there will be no production without proper preparation of the soil, and maybe the MOST IMPORTANT part I learned was that soil is just that: Fertile soil. Whatever got planted in it, grew.

Now, of course my father attempted to plant the good seeds always - crops. But inevitably the bad seeds got into the soil too - weeds.
It was not the soilt's fault - it was just fertile soil - it nurtured and let grow anything that was planted in it.
Actually, it was up to us as farmers to make sure we planted as much good seeds for crops and destroyed as much bad seeds of weeds as possible to yield the best crop.

Our mind is the same, it is like fertile soil.

If we plant the good seeds (positive things) every day - good yield will come from it.
Similarly, if we allow bad seeds (negatives) to be plantedl and grow in our fertile soil, bad weeds will grow and multiply, yielding bad things.

How do we know which is the good and which is the bad seed? It is easy.
Look around you. Are you surrounded by poverty, hatred and struggle every day of your life? Maybe you are among weeds - bad influences which day after day plants the bad seeds in your fertile soil and produce the yield - hatred, poverty, struggle.

Similarly when you surround yourself with good seeds, consiously plant the good things, your life will be full of the yields of the good seed - wealth, tolerance, prosperity.

Do you lend you fertile soil to the drivel of TV, general radio and filthy gossip every day - what do you think will grow? Weed of course!

Or are you consiously feeding your fertile soil with positive re-enforcement, positive speeches of great men and woman who changed and influenced the lives of millions, wrote books of great wisdom and experience and do you exercise your mind regularly with proper mind games? Then the good fruit will come from it, yielding a great crop of productivity and propsperity which would only improve the world around us.

Imagine what a change we could make if we could plant the good seeds in the minds of every man and woman every day!

I urge you to look after your most precious possession, your mind. Feed the fertile soil with the right fertiliser, plant the good seeds day after day, weed out the weeds, make a consious effort to NOT let any weeds fall and grow into it.
You can start HERE.

On this website you will find the resources, seeds and guidance to feed your mind.
